Gerd comes from a real horse family. He grew up among the horses and the equestrian sport also flows through his blood. His grandparents trained horses and his parents have for years led a riding and retirement company in Amersfoort. It was almost obvious that Gerd would continue the family tradition and chose a life in equestrian sport.
As a small boy he rode with different ponies in all disciplines, after which he made the switch to the horses. After his education, he decided to dedicate himself fulltime to equestrian sports. He trained and brought horses in jumping to ZZ level in dressage to ZZ light level. He has acquired his rich experience, among other things, as a stable rider, led by former international jumping rider Antoon Ebben. In Germany he led his own jumping and dressage stable and for years he worked for the equestrian sports association KNHS and the KWPN, for example as a stable master and as training manager of the performance research.
In addition to his extensive experience in training horses, Gerd has a broad education in the equestrian sector. For example, he obtained the training for Equine Professional Training in Deurne and he has the ORUN teacher training courses. followed. He has worked as an Instructor for the ORUN Instructor Training KNHS at the Federation Center in Ermelo. Recently he has been trained as an international course builder, which he practices both at home and abroad.
Gerd is a gifted and well-loved instructor. He has a great feeling for the cooperation between horse and rider and a talent to highlight driving aspects from different perspectives.
